Abstract:
Infectious and inflammatory complications of arthroplasty may exhibit F-18 FDG uptake during PET imaging. These positive findings may complicate the cancer evaluation and staging in a patient population with joint prosthetic replacement. To the previously reported patterns of tracer accumulation in prosthetic infection and loosening, the authors ađ the PET findings of pelvic mass-like granulomatous disease in a patient with suspected recurrent melanoma.
