Valley, California, sẽ nói về Botulinum Toxin.
Khởi đầu, độc tố botulinum đã áp dụng trong thần
kinh học, rất mạnh. Nhưng bây giờ thì đã vượt ra khỏi lãnh vực thần kinh.
Độc tố Botulinum hiện nay được dùng trong thẩm mỹ, điều trị bệnh chảy
mồ hôi, bệnh đa tiết tuyến nước bọt (sialorrhea), chứng khó phát âm (dysphonia)
và những triệu chứng đau đớn.
Mục đích của đề tài diễn thuyết là:
1) Muốn hướng dẫn tìm hiểu cơ nguyên (cơ chế) của độc
tố botulinum và các đặc tính khác.
2) Giúp hiểu biết quen thuộc hơn những liều lượng độc
tố Botulinum có sẵn trong thị trường.
3) Hiểu thấu những áp dụng của độc tố Botulinum trong
thần kinh học.
4) Giới thiệu với các chuyên gia hiểu rõ thêm những cách
dùng độc tố botulinum.

From the first documented incident of food-borne botulism,
botulinum toxin has witnessed a remarkable transformation due to its new
found neurological applications.
These applications have continued to expand in the
recent years and are no longer limited to the neurological arena. Understanding
botulinum toxin and its applications has become a must for a modern practicing
neurologist. Special attention will be devoted to the use of botulinum
toxin outside common neurological practice such as in cosmetics, hyperhydrosis,
sialorrhea, dysphonia, pain…
Educational goals:
1. To understand the mechanism of botulinum toxin and
its different properties.
2. To be familiarized with the dose conversion of commercially
available toxins
3. To appreciate the different applications of botulinum
toxin in neurology
4. To be introduced in the ‘how to' approach of these
off label indications
