Abstract:
Infectious and inflammatory complications of arthroplasty may exhibit
F-18 FDG uptake during PET imaging. These positive findings may complicate
the cancer evaluation and staging in a patient population with joint prosthetic
replacement. To the previously reported patterns of tracer accumulation
in prosthetic infection and loosening, the authors add the PET findings
of pelvic mass-like granulomatous disease in a patient with suspected
recurrent melanoma.

Abstract:
Esthesioneuroblastoma is an uncommon head and neck neoplasm with frequently
delayed diagnosis resulting from its nonspecific symptomatology. CT and
MR are the mainstream cross-sectional imaging modalities for the evaluation
of this lesion, which has a propensity to disseminate to cervical lymph
nodes at initial presentation. The authors present an additional case
of this rare olfactory neuroendocrine tumor with accurate anatomic and
functional staging and posttherapeutic surveillance by PET/CT.
